Did you know that it is Hamburger Day?
While it can be a bit silly, I do find these holidays pretty entertaining – and a great source of inspiration in the kitchen. For this one we thought, we need to do an All American Hamburger Beast Bowl! It was a no-brainer.
As Californians, the first hamburger that comes to mind is In-N-Out Burger!
When I order a burger at In-N-Out, I order it ‘protein style.’ I do this to keep the calories down and avoid starchy carbs. (Hey, it leaves room for eating more fries!) Ordering ‘protein style’ means that the burger comes in leafed iceberg lettuce instead of a bun. While this tastes AMAZING, it is more than a bit messy. It is literally screaming for a bowl. It has juicy beef, melted cheese, onion, tomato, crisp lettuce…and the most amazing ‘animal sauce’ to pull all those flavors together. As you may well imagine, a protein style burger is not something should order at the drive through. When you eat it, you end up with it all over your hands. Like I said, it is just screaming for a bowl – and a fork!
Beast Bowls are all about the protein, sauce, and the add ins.
Cooking is all about making a recipe work for you.
Why not a finally get that burger into a bowl?
Make this All American Hamburger Beast Bowl your way. Do you eat Paleo? Omit the cheese and maybe add some avocado. Want to go crazy with it? Add some fries to your bowl! The possibilities are endless. Have fun with it and let us know what you come with.
